Timothy Leary

Timothy Francis Leary (October 22, 1920 ”“ May 31, 1996) was an American writer, psychologist, modern pioneer and advocate of psychedelic drug research and use, and one of the first people whose remains have been sent into space.

1960: Leary establishes the Psychedelic Research Project at Harvard University.

1961: Leary receives grant money from Harvard University to study the effects of LSD on test subjects. 3,500 doses were given to over 400 people.

May 1963: Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert are fired from Harvard.
