My favourite computer in this time is the Commodore 64, noted for unreliability, eccentricity and limited memory.

Ars Electronica 1986; first action of the Ponton Medien Bus (Containercity).
Planetary Network by Roy Ascott at the Venice Biennale.
Leos Carax tourne "Mauvais Sang".
Enki Bilal publie "La Femme Piège".
Douglas Davis: Ménage à Trois - live satellite and radio performance linking the Guggenheim Museum (New York), Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), and the Venice Biennale.

April: A TV pirate known as Captain Midnight breaks into a cable television program.

In the meantime, I drop the guitar and start to work with the S900, my first sampler.

I'm listening to Laibach (Nova Akropola), Slayer (Reign in Blood), Iron Maiden (Somewhere in Time), Coil (Horse Rotorvator), Kraftwerk (Electric Cafe)...

In “The Heart of the Machine” by Ian Ferrier and Fortner Andersen (of ACEN = Art Com Electronic Network, available on CompuServe and USENET via WELL since 1986) the autobiographies of network users are integrated into the sequels of an “experimental novel” (Loeffler 1989).
