CHRONOLOGY:
2001: November 28th: release candidate of shoutcast~ object 1.0 for linux.
December 11: release of mp3write~ for linux — "an external for recording your sessions to mp3 files".

2002: January 23rd: release candidate of mp3live~ and shoutcast~ externals for Pd Linux.
February 3rd: the shoutamp~ object ”” an icecast/shoutcast(soon) client for PD ”” is announced. It is co-authored by Olaf Matthes and Yves Degoyon. "it has only been tested with icecast on linux. it should be quite ok for shoutcast."
August: release of speex~ — "voice quality streamer which allows you to transmit a low-rate signal over a TCP connection".
"The PDP project started in fall 2002."

2003, February: Degoyon releases "a new version of PiDiP (0.8.2) that includes the new pdp_ffmpeg~ object that lets you stream video and audio to an ffmpeg server."

2004, October 31: release of PiDiP 0.12.17 (codename No pasa nada). New object: pdp_theorout~ (ogg theora file recorder). "next step will be to add some theora streaming object, but i'm really not sure to go the flumotion way (although it works here ), but as regards to the way some enterprises want to take hold of it. i'd rather stream through icecast2 (and this works too)".
December 23: PiDiP 0.12.18 (codename Benisensi) — "tries to escape from patents issue by offering a full support for ogg/theora video format (reading, writing & streaming in & out)". New objects: pdp_icedthe~ : a threaded theora stream reader ( from flumotion or icecast ); pdp_theonice~ : a theora a/v streamer ( to flumotion or icecast ).

2007, July 12: Yves sends a Pidip streaming patch to the PD list.
August 22-23: Yves Degoyon and Lluis Gomez y Bigorda project in Barcelona, a proposal to democratize television and give voice to individuals and communities. This workshop covers all necessary knowledge to emit a stable and rich audio or video program, using pd and also covers the configuration of its own server and eventually the participation in a wider network."
September 21: Release of PiDiP 0.12.21 (codename Sa'ha Pidip). "this is the version included in Sahabuntu live cd."
